"Just to make one thing clear: On Christmas day in America, it doesn't matter where, it always snows. Everywhere." This is the first line of a piece Jane Franklin wrote for the liner notes of her first recording "Christmas on My Mind".

The CD brings to mind cozy evenings by the fire, the hectic pace of Christmas shopping, and the occasional sad and nostalgic feelings that can sneak up on us at this magical time of year.

Jane swings, she rocks, she even sings her own version of "Jingle Bells" to a modern arrangement expertly penned by Ralf Kiwit, the multi talented owner of Sub-tone Studios in Dortmund, Germany. Mr. Kiwit was also on board as engineer for this project.

The musicians are also in top form. Frank Chastenier, John Goldsby, and Jochen Ruckert offer the perfect holiday wrapping for the gift of Ms. Franklin's warm voice.

"Making this recording was like being a kid on Christmas morning", says Jane. "I would spend months thinking about what I was going to get. Then, on Christmas morning, when I finally went downstairs to open the presents, there would always be some small unexpected gift waiting there for me... one that would end up being far more lasting and satisfying than the gifts I had anticipated."

"Christmas on My Mind" might not be the holiday music that we were expecting, but like Jane Franklin's favorite Christmas gifts, it is music that will charm and delight us by bringing back memories of times that we cherish; a gift that all listeners will be sure to open again and again.
